Definition:
Web traffic is the amount of data sent and received by visitors to a
web site. It is a large portion of Internet traffic. This is determined
by the number of visitors and the number of pages they visit. Sites monitor
the incoming and outgoing traffic to see which parts or pages of their
site are popular and if there are any apparent trends, such as one specific
page being viewed mostly by people in a particular country. There are
many ways to monitor this traffic and the gathered data is used to help
structure sites, highlight security problems or indicate a potential
lack of bandwidth – not all web traffic is welcome.
Some companies offer advertising schemes that, in return for increased web traffic
(visitors), pay for screen space on the site. Sites also often aim to increase
their web traffic through inclusion on search engines and through SEO.

It’s very very important that you optimise your web site for search
engine inclusion!
The main factors here are:
Tag usage – the tags used by search engines to pick up your web
site information
Keyword usage – the words, not only under the keyword tag, used
in your web site should reflect where you want your web site to show
up under in a search engine search
Layout and Images – image tags can be altered to your favour,
DO not use frames etc.

There is almost an endless amount of information about ‘how to optimise
your web site’ there is also almost and endless fight about who
got the right method and how to implement it.
We found that by doing an analysis of the competitors web sites worked
the best for us, now this sound easy but it isn’t; we found this
out the hard way. However there is a software package that can sort
this out for you and this is by using science and logic. Its takes
the top 10 of your competitors web sites and dissects them, then gives
you the method and how to implement them.

Search Engine
Submission
A daunting task, takes a lot of time and effort unless, of course, you use an
automatic submission programme!
There are literary thousands upon thousands of web directories and search engines
out there and to do them all would take just as much time in years.
The above system does contain a good Search Engine Submission system
as well but in order not to miss out on this frustrating part we found,
and have been using, the Wizard.

Article Submission.
Another excellent way to get traffic to your web site is to use Articles.
Articles are the latest in a long string of Internet Usages, basically in a nut shell, you give away free information that deals with a subject you know about.
This information should be linked to you or your web site and it will be marked as such which gives you benefits in two ways.
A, interested readers will look up your site and visit
B, the link or links in the article will point to your site, which will give Search Engines a new Back link to your site, which, in turn, will give you a higher Page Ranking.
All in all, a must for the web site traffic policy!
We have two systems that we use on a weekly basis, Article Submitter Pro which is rather dear at US $ 167 (about £85), but does an excellent job on the tracking and submitting; it has over 700 sites to submit to. Briefly, you buy it and log on, then you have to enter your details (multiple writer and allowed, which is Excellent) and then comes the first, and almost the only, tedious task, registering yourself on the various submission sites. This is so that you can use the same submission site on each and every new article submission, which means you don’t have to remember your log on details ever again.

The second system we have developed ourselves, much more simpler in terms of usage but yet as powerful, not as many submission sites but we have included about 200 of the high powered ones (the MUST ones). Link Building
This aspect is also vital to your success on the Internet, without other links
pointing to your site you can pack your bags and go home!
Link exchanges and link building can take forever and usually does BUT BE WARNED
done wrongly and your site takes a nosedive into the abyss of the Internet.
A couple of rules:
A, only trade with related companies in your field
B, DON’T join up with link exchange systems that promises you 1000’s
of links, what do you think google is stupid? They will see if a site
suddenly gets 1000+ links in a month, and what do you think the result
will be?
C, DON’T pay for links, maybe for the system that helps you but
not for the links. This can quickly become very expensive and usually
you get a minor benefit for the link.
A system that will help you identify your necessary links, connect with them
and help with absolutely everything AND that we recommend is part of the same
group that does the SEO systems:
Traffic Purchase
There are three main avenues available for you here:
A, PPC (pay Per Click)
B, PPP (Pay Per Position)
C, Direct Traffic or Diverted Traffic
Pay Per Click works just
as it says on the tin; you pay for each click that is diverted to your
site.
The biggest one is Adwords by Google and this system is probably the most safest
on out there, it will also guarantee the largest number of clicks. See it here:
One Problem, the cost. This can be a very expensive way of gaining business but
google has given you a tool to measure conversions and comparative costs so you
can monitor the success rate of your advertising.
Pay Per Positioning
This is when you pay to get a banner or a link to the top of the pile, this can
be very effective as you know your cost and you also know that you WILL get the
top positioning, one system that we recommend is:
This system will give you a top position on a whole range (about 220
search engines at last count) for peanuts. Downside, the traffic isn’t
that great.
Direct Traffic
This is, by far, the most controversial way of getting traffic, as most suppliers
of direct traffic will not give you any traffic at all but a bunch of Automatic
lookup for a bunch of proxy IP addresses!
Upside is that it is very cheap to get 10s of thousands of hits to your web site;
we recommend trial and error of this is the choice you take. Try one see if it
generated interest in your website or not and then try another one.
